May Day 2016

Happy Cinco de Mayo!  We're going to celebrate that after work tonight, but first I wanted to share our May Day photos.  To be 100% honest, it kind of crept up on me--the whole week really, but especially May Day since it fell on a Sunday.

My mom gave the kids each a May Day basket before we left there house on Sunday, so as soon as we got home I ran to the store and grabbed some supplies to make a few for some of our friends. I bought a few painted, potted succulents and we made similar baskets to last year.  Jordyn actually made all of the baskets this year, she was so excited!

This was Jordyn's second year ding-dong-ditching and it's still her favorite activity.  She's been asking to ddd people every night this week! ;)

This was Cullyn's first year actually ding-dong-ditching and he was a bit more of a ding-dong-diddle-daddler ;) He was bummed that we could just hang out at each of our friends' houses!  This boy couldn't be more like this daddy #SocialButterfly

Mother's Day Gift Guide $20-50

We have been so incredibly busy this April, that Mother's Day totally snuck up on me!  How is it next weekend already?  We have been so blessed this year {a new house, a new car, a dream vacation}, that I truly don't expect anything this year.  In fact, a nice brunch with my family {who happens to be in town next weekend} and an afternoon nap would make my weekend perfect!  However, that doesn't stop me for sharing a few things I've been eyeing! :)

Shirt | Earrings | Flowers | Necklace

Earrings | I've been loving all of the druzy jewels lately!  And with a $20 price tag, I'm all in!
Shirt | Anyone that knows me know I love tees, and hashtags, and anything mom related, so this is exactly what my yoga pants have been asking for!
Necklace | I've been dreaming of a necklace like this since I had Jordyn write 'GRAM' and made into a necklace for my mama.  I would LOVE one with her little capslock handwriting that says MAMA.  While you couldn't get it here before Mother's Day, I promise, this necklace is worth the wait!
Flowers | Who doesn't love flowers on any Mother's Day?  These are adorable, eco friendly, and last forever!  Use code 'ECO25' for 25% off!

*None of these products are sponsored in any way!  They're just a few things I been loving, purchased for a gift, or seen from a friend.

Better Homes & Garden - Test Garden Picnic

A while back I heard that Meredith Corp, who publishes the Better Homes & Garden magazines, has a test garden in Des Moines {downtown} and that every Friday from noon to 2p, they open it to the public to view.  So, last Friday, the kids and I went to check it out.  They several little areas to sit and have a picnic, so we did.  I would highly recommend this to almost anyone {well, maybe not 'manly men'--but anyone who enjoys outdoors, flowers, picnics, nature, etc.}  The kids loved it--especially the pond with fish, frogs, & tadpoles. :)

Not impressed that I made him face me fore a photo! :)
After our picnic, we came back to Ankeny to play at Dean Park & splash in their little splash pad.
