Get ready for a photo overload. We had so.much.fun at the Art Center, I couldn't help but share a million photos {at this isn't all of them!}. Jordyn has been SO into art lately that I looked into local art classes. I'll be honest, there aren't many options for 2 year olds, but I did find this class, so I signed her up. My sister took her personal day {she's a teacher} so she came with us. I'm thankful for that, because this is a very hands on class and I don't think I could have wrestled Cullyn and kept Jordyn going at the same time.
We had been talking about class, so she was very excited to go to 'art class' We got there and they had each kid color with markers and crayons on a large envelope that they took their projects home in. After that we went to the studio room and they had 5 different stations set up to work at.
Making her envelope...
Painting at the easel...
Watercolor... {they added salt for texture.}
Tip I learned, put a Rubbermaid container lid under the paper to make less of a mess

Painting with LONG brushes & neon paint on HUGE black paper...
Playing with different tools in the sensory bin...
Molding clay & adding little beads, beans, stickers, & coloring with markers...
She had time at the end to go back to her favorite station which was painting with different tools on the art easel...
The last 10 minutes they got a tour of the art museum...
I was so impressed with this class. For $15 they kept the kids supper busy and Jordyn had a TON of fun! She's been begging to go back ever since. Unfortunately, because of our crazy summer schedule, we can't go back until August.

This is my effort to post more about our local adventures {Des Moines, Iowa area} since I am always looking for fun, new places to take the kids or go out with my hubby.
I've posted in the past about Elmo Live, iCubs, Shear Madness, B&B Deli, Triad Tumbling, Zoo Tots, The Ritz, Baconfest, Backyard Adventures, SkyZone, Sculpture Park, Zoo Tunes, Iowa State Fair 2012, Iowa State Fair 2013, Tubing at SevenOaks in Boone, Free Little Libraries, Jumpin Jacks, and tons of local Christmas Activities. I've briefly mentioned the farmer's market {which is a pretty big deal here} few concert and shows, and tons of restaurants, but there are so many places we've been and things we've experienced around this city that I haven't even mentioned. I'm assuming others would like local suggestions.
*None of these places have any clue who I am or what this little blog is. I pay for our entrance/membership like any other customer and blog only my honest opinions.
