Today was a no good, very bad day.  Work is fricking INSANE!  New students this time of year, so that just adds to the madness.  To say I'm very overwhelmed is an understatement.  Something is going to have to give, soon.  :(

My kids are gone this weekend.  Adam took dropped them with my parents while I did a photoshoot last night because I had to work today and we don't have a Friday sitter.  I'm SO incredibly thankful for my mom watching them {and keeping them all weekend since we have adult activities going on} but I'm always extra emotional and out of sorts when they're gone.  :/

My to do list is a mile long…the bank, the dmv {UGH!}, the bike shop, the shoe store, clean the house, edit {x5!}, the post office, email clients, stop by a clients house to finish her photo assignment, etc. but the only thing I'm focused on is getting a nap {which will hopefully help my mood! but unfortunately makes me miss Mudock--he's the best snuggler!} and going out with my husband tonight.  BRING IT!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

PS…Let's hope our weekend picks up a little, on our first kids free night, we bought Chinese takeout and sat on the couch watching recorded TV {we rented movie, but never even watched it} until we both fell asleep on the couch {me} and chair {Adam}.  This is the {married} life! :)

I promise, my next post will be more upbeat! :)

I will blog again...

someday!  Until then I'll just use this space to complain about everything…work, weight, friends, money, holidays….

While everyone else is busy seeing taking their kids to see Santa, hanging holiday decor, hosting holiday parties, buying thoughtful, elaborate gifts, and making magical memories...I'll be sitting behind my computer being grumpy and eating my kids Advent chocolates.  The truth is, I have zero motivation for anything right now.  Adam and his dad hung the lights outside at the lake, I threw a little bit of Christmas decor up this weekend, and I've done a decent amount of shopping {from my computer, of course} but other than that…NOTHING!  I just don't 'feel it' this year.  I'm not happy and excited.  I'm broke and exhausted.  I can't even muster the strength to give either of our parents Christmas ideas for me.  It's just that I am so unhappy with how I look that I don't even want to leave my house let alone go and try things on at the store.  Plus everything is so darn expensive that it's hard to justify anything.

If you want my real Christmas list, this would be it…

a weekend in a cozy hotel, out of town, where they would color my hair, massage my body, and bring my room service.  And I could sleep the 'bags under my eyes' away.

or

a weekend by myself at home, where I could sit and finish all of the photo books & blog posts that I've started over the past year.  Where I could actually clean my entire house, like ceiling fans and sheets.  And I could sleep until my heart desired.

I would like all of this without the guilt of being a selfish mom {impossible!} and without feeling like my kids were inconveniencing anyone.

Mama Needs Advice [!!]

Lord have mercy it's been a long couple of days at our house!  I'll just lay it out there...our kid is not happy with us!  We're trying to make the transition from bottle to sippy cup.  We introduced sippy cups [off and on for a couple of months]...baby girl has never wanted anything to do with them.  [side note: she also has ZERO interest in any food except homemade babyfood!  What is up with my kid?!]

So, as I was saying...Monday night I picked her up from daycare and thought 'tonight is the night' I only offered her a sippy with whole milk.  She wasn't happy with me, but did drink about 4-6 ounces throughout the night.  She woke at 2am [hungry/thirsty I can only imagine].  I went in and offered her the sippy.  She nicely swatted it away and proceeded to cry [whine] for about a half hour.  She woke around 6am and Adam again offered her the sippy cup.  This time she drank none of it and decided she was getting up for the day.

I was in meetings most of the day yesterday, but I got a few updates from the sitter indicating things were not going well, but she's had off days before so I didn't think too much of it.  Adam talked to the sitter multiple times and was giving updates [on how very mad she was that she wasn't getting the bottle she wanted!].  She took a morning nap [something she rarely does] and a [short] afternoon nap.  I picked her up from the sitter after my meeting and she just looked pathetic.  She was also wheezing a little, which is something she has never done before.

This is getting long, so I'll cut to the chase.  I took her to Urgent Care last night for the wheezing and long story short they said she was fine and just being stubborn.  They also said that as long as her mouth is wet/pink she is okay to go without drinking.

So basically...she's just being stubborn confused.  She doesn't know what's going on and is sad.  I really feel like if we could go another day or so she would get that her only milk is going to come from that sippy and she should embrace it.  But yesterday when I picked her up from the sitter she said if she acted that same way again tomorrow [today] she wouldn't be able to watch her.

I don't know what to do!  I hate seeing my baby sad [especially when I could make it better] but I also feel like the bottle situation isn't going to get any better.  I feel like I'm not getting support from my sitter and she is frustrated from hearing her cry and be unhappy, but I don't really know what to do.  I don't want her to be upset or short with Jordyn, but I really don't want to find another daycare provider either.  I'm so torn!  I don't think she is a bad kid & she spends less than 30 hours a week at daycare.  What do I do?  Do I take today and tomorrow off and work with her for the next 5 days?  Do I give up and try again in a couple of months?  Everyone I talk to [friends, parents, our sitter] said their kids transitioned fine and it was never an issues.  What did I do wrong?

Crying & Desperate,
Mama

When God, When?!

Ugh!  So I know I wasn't going to post about this topic anymore but I guess I lied.  It's my blog...I can do what I want!  :)

When..

..is the right time to sell a condo
..is the right time to move [away...far away!]
..is the time to buy a house [a real one...to live in forever and ever!]
..to start making a family
..to get a job [and keep it...not for just a year!]
..to feel like an adult [not like when you turn 18.. really feel like an adult]

I'm so overwhelmed right now!  All these questions and nobody telling me what to do!  When my mom was this age she had 2 children, was buying a house [that she's lived in since], and working a job [that she has now had for 24 years!]

I wish life had an instruction manual..
