Weight

A while back, Beet Blu contacted me asking if I was interested in reviewing the Beets Blu Smart Scale.  At first I was like 'No Thanks' because my weight has not been in my favor this past year. {your welcome that I used my children's weight and now my own for this post!}  However, after I looked at the scale, I changed my tune.  Until this point, I was assuming it was like every other scale, however, it's not.  It's sleek, with glossy black, metal, with a blue digital reading.  I love the simple, digital display, and total bonus that it replaced our very inconsistent scale that would show you 3 different weights within a minute of stepping off the scale.

However, the coolest thing about this scale is that it links an app on your phone that allows you to customize your profile {age, gender, height, build} and set your weight goals {lose, maintain, gain}.  When you weigh yourself, it beeps to signal the information was send to your phone.  From your phone, you can see muscle, fat, water, bmi, lean body mass, & bones by day, week, month, etc. to see your trends.  The green arrow shows when you make good changes and red for negative ones.  The best part is that anyone that downloads the app can have their own profile, with the same scale.

It should also be noted that you can use the scale for an accurate weight check without the app if you prefer.
You can purchase this scale on Amazon.com | Retail Price $74.95.

2010 Resolutions Revisited...

Well we're 1/12 of the way through 2010 already...can you believe that?!  It's been great to us so far... lots of fun times and relaxation!  I think it's time to grade myself on the progress of my 2010 resolutions...what do you say?

1- Start a Blog -- A
-->I started it, been pretty consistent, and got 25 followers!  More than I could have imagined...heck I give myself an A+ [might be my only one!]

2- Maintain 115 lbs [well the last 2 weeks haven't done be well...so I have to HIT 115 first!] -- D
-->I have sucked at porportions this month and am still around the 120 lb. mark :(  Spring will be better...right?

3- Enjoy our 1st year of marraige to the fullest...work on relaxing and improving myself and our relationship each day! -- B
-->I really think I have improved in this area.  I'm learning to not let the small things bother me & we have had a ton of fun!  So far we've had several nights with friends [games & dinners], took the nieces & nephews to Omaha, and went skiing a couple of times.  I still have areas to improve on, but am very happy so far!

4- Work out 5 days per week... Consistently -- D-
-->I have been terrible!!!  I averaged 2 days a week this month :(  Revised Goal...3 times a week in February.  This will be more attainable before the weather gets nice...then 5 days a week!

5- Buy a house -- C
-->I give us a C only because we're actually talking about this and glancing at a few different options.  The Ball is rolling at least...

6- Grow my hair out -- B
-->I'm hanging in there!  I did get a trim...it had been almost 4 months! Still working on it and haven't changed my mind yet, so that it good!

7- Find a nice church and go on a regular basis -- C
-->I get a C because I went once...which sounds terrible BUT I only skipped one week.  The other weeks we were out of town or working.  Last week was the only one I was selfish & just didn't go. :(

8- Become a business owner -- N/A
-->I'm putting N/A because we have decided to hold off on this and spend the money for other things *cough*a house*cough*  We have decided to reevaluate this in 2011.

9- Run a 5k -- C
-->I haven't actually started to run [again weather!] but I did tell my sister that I would run it with her...so I think that is a fair step for icy January and no treadmill.

Well....A.B.D.D.C.B.C.C--Rocking the C average!  Wouldn't have made my mama proud, but on the flipside I haven't totally bombed!  They're still attainable!

I'm going to add a #10 to the list...
10-Spend less money/Save more money!
I'm really proud of us.  We have only been married a couple months and have [almost] no debt.  We still owe on our condo & my student loans but everything else is paid off.  We want to work really hard at saving the extra money instead of squandering it away little by little.  So...Let's see how we do...February is always a tough month for money since it's so short!

What about you?  How are your New Year Resolutions coming?

Blogger Virgin

Well...here it is! My first attempt at blogging! I'm not really even sure why I decided to attempt this but I did so lets see how it goes! I'm not a writer by any means...in fact I usually don't even use correct capitalization let alone punctuation! I'm actually a list girl [common trait of my type-a personality]...such a list girl I've been known to add something to my list after it's been done just so I can cross it off! :) My husband really liked that during our wedding process!

I can't believe it's already January first! I celebrated NYE for the first time EVER last night! I'm not sure if I should call it a success or a failure but it was a lot of fun last night and I never plan to replay it! I'll write more another time to let you know a little about me and my family but until then here is my list of resolutions for 2010....

1- Start a Blog
2- Maintain 115 lbs [well the last 2 weeks haven't done be well...so I have to HIT 115 first!]
