Thank You for 2010!

I'm not sure the technical way to determine success, but I'm definitely marking 2010 down for it.  The year wasn't without any trials, but if going on strike and scaling back our friend list was the only major change I would say we were pretty blessed!

Looking back we had hundreds more amazing memories than ugly ones.  In {January} I started this blog, going from zero followers to almost 200!  Gaining gobs of friends!  {February} we celebrated our 3rd Valentine's Day together at my most favorite local restaurant and took four of our six nieces and nephews to a hotel & waterpark in Omaha, NE that I apparently didn't blog about so here...
{March} brought lots of ski trips and even in impromptu trip to Kansas City.  In {April} we took the plunge and purchased our first SUV.  In {May} we celebrated Memorial weekend with one of many pool parties which I also failed to blog about..here

Here is your proof... My baby sis turned 19 in {June} and we celebrated my parents 25th Anniversary!  {July} I ran my first 5k & the Midnight Madness 5k with my sisters right before my middle sis turned 22!  I turned 24 in {August} and switched jobs.  I surprised Adam with a trip to Las Vegas on Labor Day weekend and Adam turned 30!! in {September}.  In {October} we discovered Hamilton Loomis and celebrated our 1st year of marriage in Mexico!!  I saw the Rockettes and joined Twitter in {November}.  And last but not least {December} brought a trip to Chicago with my mamaBlue Man Group, Wicked, and Mannheim Steamroller performances.  I shall call 2010 the year of LIVE PERFORMANCES!

This list doesn't even touch the memories we have made.  So many fun times with friends & family...my grandparents 50th Anniversary, Weddings we attended, Holidays we shared, Birthday parties, and even the survival of our 1st year of marriage!

Thank you so much for joining me in this journey.  This blog is one of my favorite passions!  I can't wait to get 2011 started...I already know it's going to be great!

[I'll post about our NYE celebration & maybe even Christmas soon...for now here are my 2011 resolutions!...It's okay to laugh...I had a 20% success rate last year!]

2010 Resolutions Revisited...

Holy moly!  We are a quarter of the way through 2010..Can you believe it?!  It's been great to us so far... lots of fun times, relaxation, and family time!  I think it's time to grade myself on the progress of my 2010 resolutions...ready?

1- Start a Blog -- A-A-A
-->I started it, been pretty consistent, and got 25 followers!  More than I could have imagined...heck I give myself an A+ [might be my only one!]
-->Still holding strong..working toward 75 followers.  I would say I'm doing pretty good!
-->Over 100 follower now & 2 giveaway.  Couldn't be more happy! :)

2- Maintain 115 lbs [well the last 2 weeks haven't done be well...so I have to HIT 115 first!] -- D-C-B
-->I have sucked at proportions this month and am still around the 120 lb. mark :(  Spring will be better...right?
-->I'm still around 120 but my jeans are getting looser again.  I feel like I'm toning up a bit.  I'm exciting for warmer weather.  My goal this spring is to do some kind of excercise [walk--run--bike--kickboxing] at least 5 times a week.  Should be very attainable once this darn snow/ice finally melts!
-->Still working on hitting 115 again.  I have started to run though!  It's only going to get better from here..I'm confident! :)

3- Enjoy our 1st year of marriage to the fullest...work on relaxing and improving myself and our relationship each day! -- B-A-A
-->I really think I have improved in this area.  I'm learning to not let the small things bother me & we have had a ton of fun!  So far we've had several nights with friends [games & dinners], took the nieces & nephews to Omaha, and went skiing a couple of times.  I still have areas to improve on, but am very happy so far!
-->We're doing great!  We started Date Nights each week..we're only on week 3 and have already connect so much more!  We always spend a lot of time together I just feel like it's more 'quality' now & we make sure it's just the two of us.  We both like 'groups' of people so I felt like our time wasn't really one-on-one much before.
-->Sadly date nights aren't happening every.single.week right now but we're still having a blast & spending quality time together.  We did get to Kansas City for our first ever getaway just the two of us.  We've spent 3 weekends the last month with family too, so that always makes us happy!  The date nights will come back soon!

4- Work out 5 days per week... Consistently -- D-C-C
-->I have been terrible!!!  I averaged 2 days a week this month :(  Revised Goal...3 times a week in February.  This will be more attainable before the weather gets nice...then 5 days a week!
-->For my February Goal I get a C..The last two weeks I have worked out 3 times a week but the first 2 weren't so successful!  I finally found a workout schedule that works better for us..so that has helped!  Oh..and I only let myself tan on the days I workout..that helps too! :)
-->Not quite up to 5 days a week again but I'm at 3-4 so I'm okay with it.  April is going to be great!  Murdock is loving it when I take him on runs!

5- Buy a house -- C-D-N/A
-->I give us a C only because we're actually talking about this and glancing at a few different options.  The Ball is rolling at least...
-->I think I have to get a J-O-B to get the house we want without getting in over our heads..:(
-->We pretty much aren't even talking about a house right now.  I am slowly starting to accept that fact that even though our condo isn't the most convenient thing, it is new and nice and we could actually stay there for a few more years.  Until I get a different job it's on hold.  Adam is talking about getting a new car though since both of ours are over 100K!

6- Grow my hair out -- B-B-B
-->I'm hanging in there!  I did get a trim...it had been almost 4 months! Still working on it and haven't changed my mind yet, so that it good!
-->Adam actually mentioned the other day that it was looking longer..that's a little motivation! :)
-->I haven't got a cut or changed my mind yet so we're doing good. Huge milestone..It's now long enough to put into a ponytail [with a little clippy help! :]

7- Find a nice church and go on a regular basis -- C-F-D
-->I get a C because I went once...which sounds terrible BUT I only skipped one week.  The other weeks we were out of town or working.  Last week was the only one I was selfish & just didn't go. :(
-->FAIL!  I have just been lazy this month!  It's so hard to go all.by.yourself..but that is no excuse! err! [disappointed in myself!]
-->Terrible because I never.once.went this month but I gave myself a D because we had my family in town, had Adam's family in town, went out of town, & went to Adam's hometown.  So in my defense we weren't really able to. :(

-- Become a business owner -- N/A
-->I'm putting N/A because we have decided to hold off on this and spend the money for other things *cough*a house*cough*  We have decided to reevaluate this in 2011.

8- Run a 5k -- C-C-B
-->I haven't actually started to run [again weather!] but I did tell my sister that I would run it with her...so I think that is a fair step for icy January and no treadmill.
-->No change...waiting for spring!
--> B because I'm running 2 miles now..it's a start! Oh and we found a race to run..so that's exciting too!  :)

9-Spend less money/Save more money! -- B-C
-->I'm really proud of us.  We have only been married a couple months and have [almost] no debt.  We still owe on our condo & my student loans but everything else is paid off.  We want to work really hard at saving the extra money instead of squandering it away little by little.  So...Let's see how we do...February is always a tough month for money since it's so short!
-->Well I wont go into much detail since I plan to do a whole post on this soon but we I gave us a B since we have spend less..Not really 'saved more' at this point.  We did pay cash for my tires & a few birthday gifts which would have been in our savings.
-->Well..We went to a concert, went gambling [twice], went out of town, bought Adam some work clothes, gave me a shopping spree including new tennis shoes, and bought Adam golf clubs.  Maybe we should have got a D this month...

Well....A.B.A.C.B.D.B.C--No Fs this time so that's good.
Mean-C+
Median-B
Mode-B
On the positive side...lots of room for improvement I guess! :)

Blogger Virgin

Well...here it is! My first attempt at blogging! I'm not really even sure why I decided to attempt this but I did so lets see how it goes! I'm not a writer by any means...in fact I usually don't even use correct capitalization let alone punctuation! I'm actually a list girl [common trait of my type-a personality]...such a list girl I've been known to add something to my list after it's been done just so I can cross it off! :) My husband really liked that during our wedding process!

I can't believe it's already January first! I celebrated NYE for the first time EVER last night! I'm not sure if I should call it a success or a failure but it was a lot of fun last night and I never plan to replay it! I'll write more another time to let you know a little about me and my family but until then here is my list of resolutions for 2010....

1- Start a Blog
2- Maintain 115 lbs [well the last 2 weeks haven't done be well...so I have to HIT 115 first!]
3- Enjoy our 1st year of marraige to the fullest...work on relaxing and improving myself and our relationship each day!
4- Work out 5 days per week... Consistently
5- Buy a house
6- Grow my hair out
7- Find a nice church and go on a regular basis
8- Become a business owner
9- Run a 5k

What are your resolutions for the new year?
