Tumbling | Cullyn

A couple of months ago, we enrolled Cullyn in gymnastics.  He was getting a little jealous of sissy's dance class {basically just wanting to join her class} and we realized we he was probably ready for an extracurricular sport as well.  Many of the real 'boy' activities {wrestling, basketball, soccer, karate etc.} don't start before three {or in some cases 5} around here and he has a huge love for climbing, so I thought tumbling would be a good idea.

As it turns out, the class for 2 year olds is a parent/toddler class {we actually had Jordyn enrolled for a short bit right before she turned 2!} which we didn't feel would be the best option for Cullyn {he tends to be more 'spirited' when I'm around & it's on Friday morning when Adam is at work}.  It's in the same building as Jordyn & Cullyn's preschool, so we know all the teachers, staff, & director well.  They insisted that he would be able to keep up with the 3/4 year old class {which is coach led} and to enroll him in that {*The staff at Triad is so freaking awesome!}  So we did.  Bonus that his tumbling class is right before his preschool class on Fridays.

So he's a foot shorter and over a year younger than most of the kids, but I can assure you, if it weren't for the physical characteristics, you would never know.  He is small but mighty, that is for sure!

Small class due to Spring Break

Not in his class, just bored waiting & telling me that I should let her tumble too!

For size comparison {crying emoji goes here!} ;)

I've been keeping something from you guys...

I can't believe I'm about to put this in writing, but if all goes as planned, I'll be running a marathon this summer!  I haven't officially signed up yet, but you may have noticed I've bumped up my running schedule and started my training again.

Sports Bra c/o Onzie :: Leggings c/o Onzie
Sorry for the terrible lighting.  I resorted to iPhone timer photos. :(
As for the terrible hair/face--these were 3 minutes post 8 mile run.
For timing reasons, I've decided the Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, MN would be the best fit for me right now.  I would love {love, love!} to run the Chicago Marathon this fall, but as most of you know Fall is busy season for photographers, and I just don't think I would have the time dedicated to running.

So stay tuned, because I'm sure you guys will be hearing lots more about this! :)

Huge thanks to Onzie for sending me these new leggings that are so incredibly comfortable and sports bra.  I must admit, the sports bra is a bit thin, but it held my barely there/non existent girls just fine! #MomProblems  I can't wait to add to my workout collection with some of their adorably patterned pieces! :)

{swimming lessons @ the Y}

Every Thursday in May, we went to the pool as a family for swimming lessons.  Our local YMCA has a 'water babies' class where the parents are in the water helping the babies learn to swim.  We took Jordyn when she was about 6 months {& had a wonderful experience!}, and wanted to take her again at 18 months, but the class was full and we couldn't get her in again before Cullyn was born.  So, I thought it would be fun to put both kids in the same class this year.  Unfortunately, the teachers {3 different girls in 3 weeks} were terrible and overall, it was just an awful experience.

So, we went to the pool at our gym and practiced swimming skills.  I was SO impressed how well the kids did.  They both went under water, blew bubbles, floated & kicked {both front and back}, and jumped in to the pool.  Jordyn can also climb out of the pool by herself.  We also did lots of songs like London Bridge & The Wheels on the Bus.

Thank you Aunt Ashley for coming along to take photos for us! :)
