Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo

For being less than 200 pages this book is filled with thought provoking facts from a three year old boy's experience of heaven.

Just Closed.. [Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea]

Are You There, Vodka?  It's Me, Chelsea by Chelsea Handler

I grabbed this book from the library after hearing so many people talk about it.  I have no idea why there was a wait for this book; if it hadn't been such a short book I probably wouldn't even have finished it.  This book had some [but very few] funny parts, but honestly had NO POINT!  Very disappointing!

Just Closed.. [Sing You Home]

Sing You Home by Jodi Picoult

I forgot I finished this book last week.  Definitely not one of my most favorite Jodi Picoult books.  Although it gets better as the book goes on.  The main character Zoe is finally 7 months pregnant after several infertility issues.  Life seems to be coming together for her and her husband Max until she suddenly loses the baby.  As if losing the baby isn't enough she looses her husband too.  See where life takes these two after they hit rock bottom... One thumb up!

Just Closed.. [Night Road]

Night Road by Kristin Hannah

Kristin Hannah's newest book about life, love, & forgiveness.   How do you pick the pieces up after your perfect life comes crumbling down?  Maybe it's because I'm almost a mama, maybe it's just hormones, but this book really makes you think about the important things in life.  Two thumps up!

Just Closed.. [The Help]

The Help by Kathryn Stockett

Finally a good book!  I'm pretty sure everyone knows what this book is about already since the movie has been playing for a couple of week now, but in case not... it's the story of two black maids and a while girl living in the early 1960's.  Skeeter returns from college and makes it her mission to write a book about the racial segregation of the South, but you'll have to read it to see just how far she'll go to get her point across.  450 pages and worth every one of them.  Two thumps up!

Just Closed.. [Straight Up And Dirty]

Straight Up And Dirty by Stephanie Klein

I'm on a roll for choosing books lately...bad ones that is!  This book lacked focus and vision I think.  A few parts were interesting and the last half seemed to be better than the first.  Just because I think it was a smidge better than the last book I read, I 'll give it just one thumb down :(

Just Closed.. [The Carrie Diaries]

The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell

Even though this is a young adult book I thought I might enjoy it since I love Sex In The City.  WRONG!  This [less than 300 page] book took me over 2 weeks to read because I was just pushing through hoping it would get better.  Slow, boring, high school drama.  The only good part about the book was that it gave the background of Carrie going to New York City.  Two thumbs down :(

Last Night At Chateau Marmont by Lauren Weisberger

Ever think about making it big...how would you handle it?  Read what happens when your husband becomes a famous singer overnight; he's all over and you're trying to balance work and your new hollywood life.  Great, quick read!  Two thumbs up!

Just Closed.. [Safe Haven]

Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks

Awesome...as usual!  I don't think this man could write a bad book if he tried.  Find out why a lady moves to a small town to start her life over in this book.  Two thumbs up!

Just Closed.. [Sippy Cups Are Not For Chardonnay]

Sippy Cups Are Not For Chardonnay by Stephanie Wilder-Taylor

I read this booking hoping for a comical twist on the less glorious parts of parenthood [similar to Baby Laughs] but was largely disappointed.  Few parts were actually funny, but most of the time I found myself trying to push through...disappointing!  One thumb down!

Just Closed.. [The Birth Order Book]

The Birth Order Book by Dr. Kevin Leman

Ever wonder why first born children tend to be more structured or why last born people seem to be so carefree...check this book out.  I picked up this book expecting to read all about how birth order affects children but ended up learning tips about all relationships [from myself to my coworkers].  I'll admit, at times it seemed to drag on a bit, but for a non-fiction book...this was a good one!  One thumb up!

Just Closed.. [Mini Shopaholic]

Mini Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

Not much to say about this book.  Similar to the rest of them...charming, witty, and always wondering what she'll get herself into next.  If you liked the other Shopaholic series books you're sure to enjoy this one as well!  Two thumbs up!

Just Closed.. [Babyville]

Babyville by Jane Green

Wow!  This was my 2nd Jane Green book and it was great!  It took a while to guess how the characters in the book were going to connect, but it came together well.  Great book about life, love, friendships, & parenting.  400+ pages, but hard to put down.  Two thumbs up!

Just Closed.. [Baby Laughs]

Baby Laughs by Jenny McCarthy

This book is the sequel to Jenny McCarth's first book...Belly Laughs.  He first book talks about the harsh reality of pregnancy and the things nobody tells you, this book talks about the first year after birth.  From bringing your baby home to the crazy things people will day to the emotional stages she went through, it's all in the book!  I thought this book was just as funny as the first one. And although I haven't delivered yet, it seems very accurate from what everyone else is telling me.  Overall fun, quick read.  Two thumbs up!

Just Closed.. [Mommywood]

Mommywood by Tori Spelling

I read this book over Memorial weekend.  It follows Tori Spellings first book...sTORI Telling.  To be completely honest, I feel this book lacked content.  Sure, it's always interesting to read about celebrity life, but overall I didn't think this book gave much more information.  :(

Just Closed.. [If You Were Here]

If You Were Here by Jen Lancaster

Once I got into this book I really liked it.  If you have ever remodeled a house you will probably be able to relate to this book.  Lots of funny parts, just kind of difficult to get into.  I was also suprised that the characters had different names in this book.  One thumb up!

Just Closed.. [Black Heels to Tractor Wheels]

Black Heels to Tractor Wheels by Ree Drummond

I have very few words to say about this book other than if it doesn't make you re-fall in love with your husband it is just not possible.  What a wonderful, love filled book that gives the history of the Pioneer Woman.  My only concern now...will there be another book?  Two thumbs up!

Just Closed.. [Two Kisses For Maddy]

Two Kisses for Maddy by Matthew Logelin

A wonderful book about the love for his wife and love for is child...recommended by an irl friend Janelle.  I borrowed it Friday night, started it Saturday, finished it Saturday!  It's a very captivating book.  Matthew's wife dies unexpectedly 27 hours after birthing their first child.  I highly recommend his story.  Just another reminder not to take life for granted because it can change in a moment.
