I'm still in denial that my baby girl is three!! You bring so much happiness to our lives! You're smart, sassy, and incredibly sweet!
We started your 3rd birthday with balloons. Although you snuck into our bed early that morning, so you didn't see you balloons until you went to get your brother up for the day. This sneaking into bed with mama & daddy business has been going on for a few months now. Truth is, I secretly love that you find comfort in snuggling into bed with us and I know someday, far sooner than I wish, you won't want to sleep with your mama, so for now...I'm your advocate!
After balloons, you had a stack of 3 chocolate chip pancakes, one of your favorite things right now. We all sand Happy Birthday to you , and you blew out your candles. Daddy headed to work, and we dropped Cullyn off at daycare so we could spend the day doing some of your favorite things just you and me. This is my most favorite birthday tradition. :)
We spent the next two hours running and jumping at your preschool center {which is where you went to gymnastics}. The rings were your favorite, followed by the beam, and the bars. Running the tumble track into the foam pit was also a hit, but you weren't crazy about jumping on the trampoline.
After the gym, we went to story hour. Just like previous story hour attempts, you love listening to the book, but refuse to do most of the actions. You're extremely shy around crowds & new people. In fact, this is almost the only time you'll snuggle with me anymore.
Next we went to Des Moines to meet Daddy for pizza lunch at Chuck E. Cheese's. Pizza is one of your favorite meals and you were so excited to see daddy! You loved the games, especially the horse, but your favorite part seemed to be putting your tickets into the machine. You analyzed the toy counter for quite a while, it's a good thing we were the only people in the building.
You love taking photos, which obviously excites me! |
After we said goodbye to daddy, we went to the Des Moines Art Center for a few photos. There was a group of kids there and you kept talking about the boys. I have a feeling you're going to keep us on our toes Miss Jordyn! :) Photos with you these days are a little hit & miss, but today you were feeling it. You were laughing, giggling, and being sassy with me!
After our little photo session, we went to Glazed Expressions, where you painted your own bowl. This is where you were most comfortable--totally in your element. I always want you to do what makes you most happy in life, but if I had to make a prediction for you, I would say you'll work in a art-related field someday. You get completely in the zone when you're working on an art project {coloring, painting, taking photos/video, etc.} Seeing you happy, makes me happy. I can't wait to pick your piece up and bring it home. You told me you want to put your pretties in it. :)
After painting pottery, we came home for a quick nap before picking up 'Monster' cookies to share with your daycare friends. After I picked out your birthday 'theme' you told me you wanted a Monster cake. Unfortunately, it was too late. So, we ordered cookies that looked like monsters to take to daycare {and preschool the next day}.
At daycare, we quickly changed you into your Halloween costumes and went Trick-or-Treating through the shops of 'Uptown Ankeny' for a little bit before calling it a night. And by calling it a night, I mean tucking you into bed no less than 5 times, because bedtime is rough these days. You don't want to miss a thing, girlfriend! :)
Happy 3rd Birthday, sis!
I love you... mama
