Until this year, we've always had the kids' birthday parties at our lakehouse. While that convenient, I know I wanted an Art themed birthday party since that's Jordyn's favorite activity right now. And in my mind Art=Mess, so I knew I wanted to rent somewhere. Unfortunately, all of the art/pottery canvas studios I looked into were either $200+ or came to your home. Finally, I found The Little Gym that let me rent the space {without the 'party'} for the morning. Which is exactly what I wanted. *Just as I was thinking this is going great! I probably wouldn't have even needed to rent a space. The kids are playing so nicely and being so careful with the paint {lot's of help from my oldest two nieces & the parents'}...my nephew dropped his entire plate of paint onto the floor. And I was reminded that it was worth every cent of the rental! :) Love you, P!
The invite...
The food...
We served rainbow colored fruit. Rice Krispie 'paint brushes'. Rainbow colored candy in fake paint cans from Michaels. An assortment of bottled pop. Water. And a few other rainbow colored snacks more appropriate for our baby guests.
The Cake…
Made by a friend of a friend and photography client, Bekka.
The Decor…
I didn't buy much this party in terms of decorations. I had the tissue poms in the kids toy room. I bought rainbow balloons, streamers, & paper to make a paper chain. The metal letters & '3' sign are photography props. The artists' paint tray was inspired by Pottery Barn and made by my sister Ashley. I also made a few printables.
The Gifts…
Each child got a little goodie bag filled with an art smock from IKEA, crayons in the shape of an artist palette from Etsy, and paint for the bathtub from the Target dollar spot.
