Wow! I had no intentions of taking a year off from this space, but I must say, it was needed!
To recap, we left Iowa in August and spent the next few months getting settled into our rental house and getting to know our community. I got plugged in at church, in my wine club, and made friends with some ladies at the gym. About the time we were getting into a groove, we sold our Iowa house and found a house in Florida we wanted to buy. We spent the next several months packing, moving, painting, and getting settled again. Throughout all this we had friends and family visiting. We've been blessed with so many people spending their time and money to come see us, I will never not be thankful for that!
And now, almost a whole year later, I can say we're finally just really feeling settled and comfortable in Florida. The only thing we're missing is a few really close, 'go-to' friends. I have met so many awesome ladies, and the kids have formed friendships, but we haven't found that one family we just click with. The ones we can lounge around on the weekend with. Adam's schedule makes it hard, too. He's still working 6 days a week, and many nights he doesn't get home until 7-8p. But, sports teams are locked in for the kids, and we're in a great routine at church, so that feels great.
I have dreams of starting a card club & a dinner club, a neighborhood wine group, and monthly dates with Adam, so maybe 2025 will be the year! Cross your fingers for us! ;)
