Saturday we picked up my parents and headed down to Kansas City to join my sister and her family for the weekend. We had originally planned a girls day to IKEA and it morphed into a little weekend getaway for the whole family. The kids {& I} never complain about a weekend in a hotel! :)
We met my sister's family at Q39 for lunch {never disappoints!}
After lunch, the guys took the kids to SeaLife while my mom, sister, and I went to IKEA for the afternoon. Sadly, many items were out of stock, but we still managed to get 4 carts full.
That evening, my parents offered to keep the kids so my sister and our spouses could go to dinner. We had reservations to McCormick & Schmick's, but in the end we were all tired and decided to stay in, order pizza, and take the kids to the pool. Sound familiar?!
Sunday morning we were up bright and early. We took the kids to the pool again {the best time to go if you have small kids/kids that don't like to be splashed}.

We went back to the room, got everyone ready for the day and checked out of the hotel at 10a. We made a quick pit stop for some #KC Loves pics before going to Boulevard Brewery Beer Hall for Brunch & Bingo -- which turned out to be the highlight of the trip. I would recommend this to anyone -- it's family friendly, free, & fun!
