Date Night #2--The Ass

Well we are 2 for 2 having date nights!  Friday night Adam had plans to go downtown with the boys & I was going to have some girls over...but we live in Iowa...know what that means?  Another snowstorm :/  So plans changed but we still did our own thing.  I ended up going out to dinner & to Valentine's Day with my friend Jayme.  Which was awesome since I don't get to see her as much as I would like!  I thought this movie was good.  To be honest I wasn't sure what to expect but I thought it would quite funny & pretty cute.  [A-]

Oh wait...this post was supposed to be about our sidetracked!  My point was we couldn't have our date until Sunday because of our schedules.  Adam's band played Saturday night & I watched my friends kids...remember this post?  Too much fun!  So...again...Sunday...Date Day!

We had planned to build a fort & watch rental movies all day...well because of the layout of our living room...and really high TV this wasn't possible so we just snuggled in and watched four...yep 4 [ok...I watched 3 & he watched that last one by] but lots of movies!  We didn't really do much else! :)  It was great.  We started with Couples Retreat [B+]  It was cute...a little hard for me to get into but I thought it was pretty good.  Adam & I decided that we're 'The Ass' couple.  If you watch this'll know what I'm talking about! :)
Second movie was The Time Travelers Wife. [C-]  I should have known from the beginning not to watch this movie...when we got it home we realized that they forgot to take the security device out.  After calling them they told us just to destroy the case since they have plenty & not to worry about it.  This is much harder than they make it sound on the phone!  It required entirely too much thinking & I wasn't constantly trying to member what 'year' it was.  Ahh.  I'm sure the book is better but the movie just wasn't that great in my opinion.  It definitely wasn't 'the best movie since The Notebook' like the back said! :(
Third was Law Abiding Citizen [A]  This was a great movie [good pick hunny!]  I was a little skeptical but it had Gerard Butler in how could we go wrong! :)  Awesome point to this movie & it kept you engrossed the entire time.  I recommend this movie!
Lastly Adam watched Inglorious Bastards.  This didn't sound good to me & it really didn't sound good once I saw it was 2 1/2 hours long!  Especially after we just sat through 3 movies back to I did laundry & read blogs instead! :)

Our second Date Night [day] was successful!  We just chilled & relaxed all day which was perfect since we didn't see much of each other Friday or Saturday!  Oh yes...we had wine and cheese & crackers and dessert, too! :)
Our next date will be.....

  1. Sounds fun! 2 for 2, you're on a roll! Love all the pics :) Thanks for the movie review. I'll keep number 3 in mind next time we are wondering what to rent.

  2. Way to go! Keep it up! We have Couples Retreat and Law Abiding Citizen in our netflix queue, so hopefully they come soon! I've seen The Time Travelers Wife and thought the same thing as you. I also watched Inglorious Bastards with hubby and it was ok, I'd probably give it a C. Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to see those other two movies! Have fun at the arcade!!

  3. Aw I saw Couples Retreat I didn't care to much for it and I've seen Law Abiding Citizen and it was pretty good I haven't seen the time travelers wife though..

  4. I am putting Couples Retreat into my Netflix queue.

  5. You should read the novel; Niffenegger is a genius in concept and craft. It's such a lovely, lovely read.
