Luminarium Exhibit

Early this Fall, an exhibit called 'Luminarium' came to Des Moines for a long weekend.  We happened to be in town that Friday, so I bought tickets {$5 each!!!} right away!  This is another example of how awesome it is to live in Des Moines.  Pop up art exhibits weren't a thought in the small town I grew up in. Anyways...here are some photos, although they don't even begin to do it justice!  The exhibit is lit 100% with natural light through small holes in the top. 

Afterwards the kids splashed in the water feature at Cowles Commons until the parking meter ran out. ;)

Splash Pad | Volume 3 {downtown dsm}

This could be known as the summer of splash pads since so many different ones!  It was a warm summer, and the kids are at the ages they love to run and play, so splash pads are perfect!  You can go if you have 30 minutes or 3 hours, plus they're free!

Des Moines recently added a beautiful one at Cowles Commons downtown.  We went there three or four times.  This was a Tuesday night while Adam and Mark were practicing and the kids didn't want to be quiet ;)
