Friday Favorites

If I'm being honest, there were several NOT favorites this week {the air conditioner went out the day after Adam left town, both cars were in the shop, etc.} BUT, that's why I love these posts each week -- they make me look for the good things that happen.  They are there, even when I'm tired & stressed, & very ready for Adam to be home! ;)

It was game week -- YES, please!  We all kind of needed the mid-week break!  Bonus, 2 of these ladies showed up with a card shuffler for my birthday!  How sweet, right?!  Here is your sign to start a monthly girls club {it was cards for me, because they're ma favorite, but it could be anything -- books, games, crafts, sports, whatever!}

At the end of every week I am just so tired & I can't help but think 'I AM LIVING MY VERY BEST DAYS'!  I know I sound so cliche, but am I going to be dreaming of these years for the rest of my life.  I just love being around to experience my my kids as much as I can!

This is kind of silly, but if you have a teenager {or older} child, you might get it.  Adam was out of town this week and this girl ASKED me to sleep with me all week.  Every time she asks I try to play it cool, but secretly I want to cry because I know these nights are limited.  It's so bittersweet!

My friend asked if I wanted to join her for a pedicure and I couldn't say YES fast enough!  I'm so glad our girls found each other because she's been such a joy in our lives!  Plus, she makes the hours of sitting on bleachers so much more fun! :)

I didn't get a ton of updates {Adam has been up north fishing with some of his favorite guys} but I appreciated all the updates I got!  I love seeing his smile and knowing he's making special memories with is dad, brothers, nephews, and best friend.  It's a gift I know everyone doesn't get the opportunity to have, so I'm praising God he did.  Prayers for safe travels home tomorrow!

Friday Favorites

Lots of favorites this week, compliments of several birthday gifts! :)  Back to school re-entry has been harder than I ever remember, but it makes the weekend that much sweeter! 

I've been wanting one of these candle warmer lamps since our family grab bag game last Christmas & a friend surprised me with one for my birthday!  The candle she included is Capri Citrus and it's so good -- it reminds me of my favorite candle.

I recently switched to builder gel {from dip} & I LOVE it!

Leaving the house at 6:35am for school drop offs isn't a favorite, but watching the sun come up {and/or a rainbow} and listening to books is.  My favorite book this week was Those Empty Eyes

 

Two other birthday favorites from friends that know me well!  New {cute} packing cubes and a sandbag to remove sand after the beach!

This polish was recommended by my sister in law, that always has her nails painted, when we were in Iowa this summer.  It's a base coat and top coat.  I tried it on my toes and it's really good!  Stopping for a photo with J when we drive by the beach at sunset will always be a favorite, too! :)

Birthday Wishlist

Remember when I used to post yearly birthday {& Mother's Day} wishlists?  It's been a hot minute, well 4 years actually!  For the record, I need absolutely NOTHING for my birthday {I already gifted myself this!}, but it's still fun to think about what I would want. :)  My number 1 wish is to have dinner {& cake!} with my family and to get family photos this fall.  But, because it's a milestone, I'm dashing off to Mexico with my mom and sister to celebrate with sun and sand for a few days, too!

We had the best week with our Iowa besties -- afternoons in the pool, hundreds of rounds of Flip7, homemade dinners, beach trips, shopping days, volleyball games, and daily thunderstorms were JUST what we needed to get reach for another school year!

Quick & EASY meals will always be a favorite!

Heat Bare chicken in the airfryer, cook a rice bowl in the microwave, & toss with your favorite sauce when they're both done.  Eat alone or inside a tortilla wrap.  Everyone can customize & dinner is done is 10 minutes!
