Jordyn is TEN!

And we celebrated so hard!

We started the week by taking her to get contacts!  When did my baby become old enough for contacts?! {fun fact, I also got contacts at 10, but I was in 5th grade not 4th}

Long time readers know I always pull my kids from school on their birthday & spend the entire day celebrating them!  They choose everything from where we go to what we eat and everything in between {this is when I'm thankful I 1. only have two kids 2. their birthdays are almost exactly 6 months apart 3. we've always been able to make this happen}

This year was no exception!

Friday, we dropped Cullyn off a school and headed out for the day.  We stopped at the local coffee shop for a 'pink drink' and headed to Iowa City for Panera {she loves their Cinnamon Crunch Bagels, bread cut}, followed by Trader Joes, Cookie's & Dreams, Von Maur, and ended it by 'wondering every aisle at Target' per her request.  Should couldn't possibly be more like me!  We had so.much.fun hanging out!

After Target, we headed for home to pick up Cullyn and three of her best girl friends from school.  We went straight to Des Moines and checked into our hotel for the evening!   They swam, showered, ate pizza, swam, ate cookie cake, sent the boys to their room, showered, & snuggled in to watch TV, chat, & eat allll the snacks!  I heard giggles from my bedroom where I was reading {we had a suite} until about 11 before they all crashed.

Saturday morning I grabbed donuts and the girls swam for a while before heading out.  We had to get everyone dropped off so we could get home and get prepared for her family birthday party that night!  She had 24 family members come love on her.  Adam and the guys made smash burgers to go with the hotdogs she requested we serve {lol} and at 7:30 I remembered we hadn't cut the cake yet!  It was such a nice, relaxing night with family!  At 10:30p when all the guests had left {except gram & papa who were spending the night} we hopped into the hot tub to chat until 12.

Now that we're in the double digits, it's really hitting me just how precious time is.  We have 8 years left with Jordyn at our house full time.  How is that even possible?!  Over the last year she has grown so much, both physically {including contacts & Invisalign} but mentally too.  The conversations we're having are so 'adult'.  I genuinely LOVE spending time with her.  She's the best sidekick I could ever imagine!
Also noteworthy -- this is the FIRST time we haven't hit up a Chuck-E-Cheese as part of their birthday celebration.

I hope this is your best year yet baby girl!
