DATES
Adam | We actually snuck away to Omaha, NE for a night with Adam's band friends while my parents came to stay with the kids. We had lunch, just the two of us, at a brick oven pizza place. Later that night we had dinner at Quaker Steak & Lube with friends and then celebrated our friends 45th Birthday by listening to another band {Adam's band is friends with the drummer of this band} at the Horseshoe Casino. The weekend went quick, but I'm so thankful we had the opportunity to getaway as I'm not sure when it will happen again. It was nice to dream about our future together on the way home, instead of listen to a DVD from the backseat!
Jordyn | Adam actually took Jordyn on her date this month. She started 'Sports Class' where they {kids 3-5} learn basic fundamentals like kicking, batting, throwing, & catching. She had so much fun and has been counting down the days until she gets to go again {it's every Sunday for 6 weeks}. I'm not sure if she's most excited to wear her 'workout clothes', to 'stretch', to 'go on a date with {just} daddy', or that she 'sweats' :) I'm anxious to go next week to see her in action!
Cullyn | The furthest I got with just Cully this month was the gym. I'm embarrassed to admit that. But it's the truth. I feel like finding 'dates' for a little guy under two during Iowa winters is tough! However I'm going to get him on a real date next month! Sorry Cully! #SecondChildProbs
DEEDS
This month we donated a box of goodies to our church for a local Night to Shine event they're hosting on February 13th. It's a prom for people with special needs. Our box included snakcs {granola bars & fruit snacks}, hair accessories {bobby pins & little hair rubber bands}, makeup, and nail polish. I can't wait to go to church on the 15th and hear all about the fun they had!
For the locals:: Night to Shine info here
I've been told Easter Seals will be hosting a prom for people with special needs, but I don't see it on their website yet.
Did you do any dates or RAoK this month? If so, share below...I love new ideas! :)
