Weekend Recap [Chicago Edition]

[Wednesday:very, very cold]
Checked into our hotel [the Westin on N. Dearborn Ave]
had Chicago style pizza at Lou Malnati's 
cabbed to Millineum Park to take photos and look at the skate rink
walked to the Christmas Bizzar [handmade German gifts]
went to Dicks for a drink, but they were hosting a huge Fireman's celebration
decided to go to Blues on Grand for a cocktail & live music instead
finished our night at our Hotel Bar


[Thursday:beautiful, big snowflakes]

spent almost 10 hours in a work conference
took a cab across town
had dinner at Jacks
Shopped [got Adam a Cubs hoodie]
went to the Blue Man Group at Briar Street Theatre
took a Carriage ride around Michigan Avenue in the snow


[Friday:bright,sunny day]

Finished the conference
Shopped downtown [got a few Christmas ornaments]
Photos at the Bean
Tried to have lunch at Macy's Walnut Room, but didn't work out
instead had lunch at Corner Bakery Cafe
shopped on Michigan Avenue
had a lovely dinner at Petterino's
walked to Wicked at Cadillac Palace


[Saturday:cold, rainy day]

slept in until 8!
tried to get tickets to A Christmas Carol, but it was sold out
caught lunch at Harry Caray's 
shopped State Street [hit the 'H' jackpot @ Anthropologie]
took the bus home [in blizzard conditions] leaving me sick for the entire 7 1/2 hours!

I had an absolutely amazing, indescribable weekend away with my mom.  Words cannot describe what this weekend meant to me.  I'll treasure this memory forever.

  6. Your weekend sounds like so much fun!!! I have been to Chicago so many times (and lived there for a few months) and I never did so many fun things there!!!

    I'm sorry you were so sick on the bus ride home though :(
