Taekwondo

Ignore the blue teeth, he ate a blue sucker on the way to class.

Cullyn's newest obsession is Taekwondo.  He started lessons eight weeks ago and hasn't stopped talking about/practicing/thinking about taekwondo since.  He had rank testing for his first belt change on Tuesday and passed with a perfect score.  His forms and skills are great, but I'm most proud of his bible verse reciting.  He memorized Colossians 3:20 and John 3:16 and recited them perfectly to the judges.  He is officially a Orange belt now!  In December he will test for his yellow belt.

Cullyn's 6th Birthday

Cullyn's 6th Birthday will be one I won't seen forget.  It was the year we surprised him with a 4 Wheeler and he hated it!  I mean completely refused to put the helmet on or take it for a spin. #ParentingFail  Lucky for him, he also got a metal detecter and a pair of gloves for digging, a pair of baseball gloves, and some other treasures he had been requesting.

Cullyn was most excited for his first ever Friend Birthday Party.  We rented out the local movie theater and invited his entire class {when we ask him who his best friends are his response is 'everyone!  I like playing with everybody' Bless his heart!  So he and his favorite 20+ friends watched Wonderpark on the big screen.

Basketball 2019

The kids both decided to go out for basketball this year and I can't believe how much improvement we saw!  At the beginning of the year neither one of the kids knew what offense or defense meant, and by the end of season they were each scoring over 10 points!

When siblings play for the same team -- haha!

My Little Wrestler

I never in a million years thought I would actually enjoy watching my son wrestle, but I must admit, the first meet sucked me in!  It's so incredible to see how much Cullyn has learned in four short practices -- not sure technique of the sport, but how to work harder, focus, and take feedback.

I didn't expect much this year.  Honestly, if I stayed on the mat and wrestled I would have considered that a win.  He won his first match, fought super hard his second match, and was very tired by his third match -- haha!  He ended up in 3rd place and he couldn't have been more proud.  We signed him up for a second tournament this year {January} so we will see if he still loves it after that.

*Noteworthy -- I am new to this and didn't know that they pair the kids up according to the weight you list on the form.  I just guessed {turns out I guessed Jordyn's weight, not Cullyn's} thinking they went according to weigh in {what's the point if they don't use it, but whatever!} and he was paired up with other 43 pounders instead of 37 {whoops!}.  Lesson learned! ;)
