Last weekend, we packed our winter gear and headed to Okoboji for a weekend of fun with friends. This was our first Winter Games experience and I hope it won't be our last! We had so much fun hanging out on the ice all weekend. We saw everything from bicycles to shorts to vintage snowmobiles {& snowsuits!} Seriously such a fun weekend!
We arrived Friday afternoon, check into our condo, and hit the ice. We went to the Fish Shack first. We ended up meeting friend there and stayed most of the evening. We went to the Ritz for dinner {get the pizza!} and ended the night by trying to climb a very steep hill {spoiler alert: we didn't make it} before heading home for the night. I'm pretty sure we were all sleeping by 9pm!
Saturday we were up bright and early to get checked in for Mega Pong {like beer pong, but with trash cans and soccer balls}. Despite a first round loss, that took most of the morning. After Mega Pong we went to the oval track to watch dirt bike and ranger races on the ice. We left there to check out the Boji Kites {so fun!} and Polar Plunge {so.many.people!} Now that I have seen it in person, I could maybe be convinced to try it myself sometime. We caught some live music while waiting for dinner at Captain's Getaway {the smashburger was good, but the garlic cheese curds were amazing!}.
Sunday we woke up and headed for home {Jordyn and Adam had an important event that night!} We only hit the tip of the iceberg for things to do. On my list for next year -- enter the cribbage tournament, catch the Burning of the Greens {Christmas Trees}, have breakfast at Kegs & Eggs, and karaoke one evening.
