Mother's Day 2021

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day yesterday, however you celebrated.  I know Mother's Day is hard for so many people, so if this post isn't for you right now, feel free to click out.  I started my morning texting a few special mama's in my life and had to stop after texting a couple 'extra prayers for you today' messages with tears streaming down my face.  So.many.emotions!  For that reason, I told myself about 5 years ago that every Mother's Day I was able to spend with my mama, I would.

Also, I was talking to a friend last week about Mother's Day plans and she mentioned that she couldn't imagine spending Mother's Day by asking for a day without the kids and I laughed.  I remember Mother's Day when the kids were 1 and 2 and I dreamt of Adam booking me a hotel room and sending me away for an evening to myself.  I guess I just want to say, motherhood changes and it's okay to want one thing one year and one thing another year.

This year my sister and I were at my parents house for the weekend anyways, so it worked out perfectly.  Saturday afternoon the girls went for pedicures.  That night we came home and played cards before calling it an early night {the night before we got less than 4 hours of sleep!} Sunday morning we went out for a delicious brunch at Singlespeed Brewery before taking the kids to the park for a bit.  Afterwards we coming home and I enjoyed a nap and some time in the hot tub.

Also, my Alliums bloomed this weekend!
