The 2 stations I listen to on my Alexa

You guys know I love my Alexa.  Mostly the ability to have music playing at all times.  We're much more of a 'music house' {& office} than TV.
I have two stations that I'm always listening to!  They're perfect for background music, cleaning music, and most of all singing music!  I hope you love them as much as I do!!

We got to go to a concert in Kansas City to listen to JJ Gray & Mofro {w/ Jonny Lang} this summer and it was so dang good!  I really wanted to head back to Red Rocks Amphitheater to listen to Amos Lee over Labor Day weekend, but it just didn't work out.  Some day I will get to listen to him live too! :)

Easter Brunch, Books, & a Playlist

We're hosting Easter this year, a first for us.  We've actually never hosted our family for any holiday, so I'm super excited.  We're heading to church before brunch, so I had to plan things that are super low maintenance.  I also ordered new dishes, something I've been wanted to do since we moved over a year ago.  I chose these plates and these bowls.  The green 'grass' runner came from Micheal's for super cheap and the bunny ear and carrot napkin holders came from the Target dollar spot.  Actual cloth napkins came from World Market.  Here's the menu...

Ham & turkey
Croissants
Cheesy potatoes
Green bean casserole
Fresh fruit
Ham & cheese egg bake

Mimosas
Bloody Marys

Rice crispy eggs
Easter party mix

And a little playlist I put together for the morning...

Our Easter reads.  The Littlest Bunny is Iowa is definitely the favorite!

Jasper Winery | Live Music

A few weeks ago, we text some friends last minute and decided to go to Jasper Windery's Summer Concert Series to listen to the Nadas play.  It was very impromptu, but the weather was absolutely perfect.  It ended up being such an awesome night, and just what we needed after a long week!

He's always such a stinker! :)

Hotdog/hamburger dinner for all...
We were all exhausted from a long week! :)

My kids couldn't get enough of Baby Hadley!

Concert :: Keith Urban {Light the Fuse 2013}

Last Saturday night we went to the Keith Urban concert with our best friends.  We had so much fun!  I can't believe this was only our SECOND time out with them sans kids.  Once for a nice dinner and now for a concert.

My parents came to town to watch the kids, so we got ready and went to the local bar where a few of our friends we {after the ISU homecoming game} and had a couple of drinks.  Then we headed downtown and met up with Jon & Jess.  We intended to get a couple of appetizers, but it was so, so busy that we just got a few drinks.  We headed to the concert where Dustin Lynch was playing, followed by Little Big Town, & then Keith Urban.

I'll be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of Keith Urban before the concert.  Not like I didn't like him, I just didn't know him.  I knew I would know some songs once I got there.  I just have to hear a song to know if I know it {I don't really keep up with 'artists' per say, but I do listen to the radio}.

Okay, all that to say…I loved him!  Of course we I know it's got a smokin' bod and super sexy voice, but he was a really sweet guy.  And if you can't tell…I was super pumped that he walked right by us {twice}.  So close he sweat on me!  And then, part way through the concert {when he walked by us} he went to a different stage.  Luckily my cousins {Matt & Kelly} were also at the concert and had floor tickets, so when he went to the other stage, I jumped down and ran up to the stage.  I was less than 4 feet from his microphone stand! :)

It was an awesome night, that ended at Village Inn {haven't done that since college!}  So awesome to hang out with our friends and spend some quality adult time with them.

Your Husband Might Be In A Band If Your Daughter...

Your Husband Might Be In A Band If Your Daughter...
... requests 'tunes' in the car
...plays her keyboard while 'singing' into the attached mic
...claps and says 'yay' after every song {radio songs included}
...runs to grab her guitar so she can play it while daddy plays his

...loves family dance parties

*I really hope she gets my husband's musical talent, but even if this is just a phase, it's adorable & I'm loving it!  PS...anytime I start singing she says 'No Mama, No.'  I'm guessing she already knows I can't carry a tune...haha! :)

Hamilton Loomis

Last Thursday Adam took me to a Blues Bar downtown [that's sadly closing on October 23rd] for some live music from the Hamilton Loomis Band.
Amazing.Talented.Passionate...all of them!

They're from Texas & travel all over.  I [highly] recommend going to see them if they're ever near you!  They put on a great show!

Thanks T&R for inviting us to go with you!

I found this website [through another blog]..ahh that flashbacks! :)

-The number 1 song the day I was born was 'Papa don't preach' by Madonna [which is weird because my mom is a big fan of Madonna]

-'Dilemma' by Nelly was top of the charts for my 16th birthday.

-'Burn' by Usher was the hit song the day I graduated High School

-And my wedding day...'Down' by Jay Sean & Lil Wayne

What are your songs?!
