One of my very favorite things in life is a new year. I know it's annoying to some people, but I LOVE a fresh start! Despite being sick since New Year's Eve, I'm feeling motivated for the new year!
Health
+ Close my Apple watch rings every day. Or at least get close! Honestly a 30 minute walk each day is all I need to do, so I have NO reason not to close them!
+ Find a doctor. We've now been in Florida 2.5 years and I have yet to find a provider. I'm planning to pay attention to my health {calories, water intake, movement, & vitamins} from January - June and then schedule an appointment for a full workup in July/August.
+ Lift weights 2-3x/week. To help me succeed at this, I'm going with a friend {yay!} & we're going to a trainer {the real way I will always show up!} I have learned, as life gets busy, that I will always push my workout for the sake of something else, but I do NOT go back on my word or stand other people up, so I'm hopefully this will be a strategy that actually works for me.
Home
+ Driveway extension/lawn edging. We started a little outdoor facelift in 2025 {new landscaping/palm trees}, but never scheduled the next phase {mainly because it requires approval from the HOA}, but I'm determined to wrap this up in 2026.
+ Wallpaper the 1/2 bath. I've wanted to add a wall of wallpaper to that bathroom since we moved in. The walls down here have more texture, so I'm going to hire it out, I just need to find the wallpaper I want and a person to come do it. It shouldn't take more than a 1/2 day.
Finances
+ Save $$$. We're fortunate enough not to have debt, but we do have some pretty big expenses coming up {braces, another car, & some trips} plus we have a big number in mind for our investments, so we're going to have to continuously be mindful of that goal this year if we want to achieve it.
+ Update our 'If I Die' Book. Especially since I own a business, I really need to spell out Next Steps and where all our accounts are if something were to happen to me and/or us. We have a book, but I'm not sure it's been updated since we moved to Florida, so it really needs updated!
Relationships
+ Call/Facetime someone each week. Hi, my name is Abby and I'm a TERRIBLE communicator! I am very much an 'out of sight, out of mind' person and will think 'I SHOULD call/text so-and-so' 10x throughout the day and I just never do. I know this comes across rude {& I promise it isn't a rude thing, more like an 'I don't want to call at a bad time' thing} but either way, I'm going to reach out to SOMEONE each week!
Work
+ Add another agent to the YTH family. Not just any agent, but someone that fits our team well Someone passionate about travel and people and is just an overall fun person.
+ Mirror my schedule to my kids' schedule. The downside about owning a business {for me at least} is that I always want to be working. It's physically near me all the time, so I work more than I should. I want to be better about keeping my work days work {not appointments/errands as much as possible} and shutting it down when the kids get home from school.
