Why Fort Myers, Florida when the kids' shirts say Christmas Cancun Crew you ask? Well that would be because you have to have a valid passport to fly {I know, not a new rule, just hard to remember when you only renew every 10 years!} I was heartbroken, to say the least, but the kids handled the change like champs! Constantly reminding me it wasn't my fault {it was!} and that they just wanted to be together. So, we sent 13 of our closest friends off to Cancun and the four of us boarded a plane to Ft. Myers for a week of sunshine.
Was it a bummer? DEFINATELY {especially since it was the kids' Christmas gift and it was going to be their first time out of the country} but it was still a good time. If you find yourself at Ft. Myers beach, here were a few of our favorite restaurants...
Bimini Bait Shack
Doc Ford's
Nervous Nellie's
Nervous Nellie's
The Salty Crab
For those inquiring, we stayed at the Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina.
They have great service. The kids loved the ability to charge things to our room with their wristbands. My favorite was the loungers and umbrellas they put out for guests each day and the fun activities they plan each day {movie in the pool, s'mores at night, etc.} Adam enjoyed the green flag drink service on the beach :)

This beach has great shells for shelling, but also has incredible sand! Very soft.
If you haven't been to Ft. Myers I would say it's a mix between Gulf Shores, AL and Daytona Beach, FL.
