Chores

August -- the month of Back to School and fresh new routines

I know there are a million different ways people do chores, allowance, etc. so I thought I would share the system we're using.  I tried the magnetic chore charts and it was just too much to keep up with.

So, I made this super simple system.

I bought blank index cards and clear magnetic holders on Amazon.  I wrote out a bunch of different chores the kids are asked/expected to do around the house and inserted them into the plastic holders.  We determined the kids will get $1 for each chore, so I stuck them in the pockets.  The chores available at that time are stuck on the fridge, the ones that aren't I take down.  If they choose to do a chore voluntarily, they get the money for it.  If I have to ask/tell them to do a chore, they do the chore and receive no money.  It's as easy as that.  The kids know the system and how they can earn money if they wish.  Win/win for this mama! :)
