Friday Favorites

It's Friday & Adam made it home yesterday so I'm excited for the weekend!

The Cubs won the Wildcard playoff series against the Padres and Adam was lucky enough to be invited to join my BIL in Chicago for games 1 & 2 of the series!  We're crossing our fingers they beat the Brewers next! 🤞🏼 #GoCubsGo

I'm on some medicine that had me feeling like crap most of the week, so I treated myself to one of my all time favorite splurges.  McDonald's chocolate shakes are the best.  Hands down.  I said what I said.

So random, but I was running Cullyn somewhere this week and we came across a turtle crossing the road {so Cullyn hopped out to help him cross the road carefully} and then a few miles down the road, we came across ANOTHER turtle in the road!  It actually kind of made me miss Tuttle.  Anyone remember when my sister gifted the kids a tortoise? ;)

Another favorite snack {can you tell I felt like garbage this week and was trying to find something, anything I could eat and didn't make me sick?!} I bought a bag of these {first time} and have been eating a few each day.  These are probably my favorite gummy candy to date!

Terrible photo, but Cullyn's football team & Jordyn volleyball team are both storm related {storm for one & hurricanes for the other} so I got these earrings & I love them.  Super lightweight & you can't beat the price!

Happy Friday everyone!!

Happy October + Goals

FIRST THINGS FIRST -- A September recap...

SUCCESSES

  • Call/FaceTime someone each week -- My sister, my mom, my sister in laws
  • Invite someone over {dinner, dessert, anything!} -- yes!  I had some friends over for dessert when Adam was in Canada {that seems so long ago now!}
  • Catch up on One Line A Day
  • Paint my nails -- twice, not terrible, not great
  • Find a landscaper! -- The BEST check off this list!  I'm so pumped to have the first phase of our landscaping done!
  • Re-start weekly Sunday Prep -- Check!
  • Refresh front porch -- I'm still waiting on C to power wash it for me, but the rest is done, so I'll call that a win.

FAILURES

  • Take 8 walks -- BAD, like so bad!  This isn't even a hard thing, but in my defense my surgery didn't go well and I haven't been feeling 100%
  • Have a date night with Adam -- UGH!  I tried!  I even had a reservation at a Michelin rated restaurant, but they Cullyn's makeup football game was scheduled for that night, sigh.
  • Post something on social every day -- Well, I did this, until I got sick and then I pretty much just fell off the face of the earth.  So, no.
  • Send a newsletter -- Fail
  • Start CLIA training -- Double fail!

BIG THINGS THIS MONTH

     Jordyn turns 14 {!!!} I know I say this every year, but it seems impossible to me that we've been parenting for 14 years!  Also, I'm so thankful kids in Florida don't get their permit until 15 {it's 14 in Iowa}

     Adam & I celebrate 16 years married!  I cannot wait to celebrate on two {new to us!} islands!!  Super thankful my in-laws have agreed to come watched the kids for the second October in a row so we could getaway for a little bit!

    + A bunch of family is coming to visit!! :)  My entire family {except my BIL} are coming and then right after they leave my in laws arrive!  I say it all the time, but I just LOVE that we have family {& friends} that actually want to come visit us.  To be fair, Florida is a great place to visit in October! ;)

  • Take 8 walks {the weather is getting better so I have no excuse!}
  • Catch up on One Second Everyday
  • Get my nails done
