St. Lucia | Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa & Beach Resort

At last, a long overdue update from our trip to St. Lucia last month.  For the second year in a row, Adam earned a trip through work.  This was out first time in St. Lucia and it was even more beautiful than I imagined!  I haven't been to Hawaii, but many people compared the views to Hawaii.

People always ask if this is a 'work' trip, as in does Adam work at all while he's there or does he have trainings to go to.  The answer is no.  We typically hang out as a group, but the truth is you could totally get this trip and hang out by yourself the entire time.  They hold a private dinner and recognition banquet one night, and they always rent a huge catamaran for a day.  This year we sailed to the Pitons and into Soufriere went to a sulfur mineral bath w/ active volcano and into waterfalls to rinse off and then cruised to a private island to snorkel which was definitely a highlight of the trip.

The best part of St. Lucia is the beautiful view.  It was also pretty cool that our hotel was on a peninsula so one side was the Caribbean and the other was the Atlantic.  The downside {if there were a downside to a free trip} was the travel time.  It ended up being about 13 hours total travel time on the way down and closer to 15 hours on the way home.  {even more without the time changes} The flights were great, but the 3 hour drive {in traffic} was brutal for those of us that get motion sick.  Definitely worth the trip, I would just recommend staying at least a week to help 'justify' the travel time.

Now a few photos.  I'll be honest, I was terrible about taking photos on this trip.  I don't think we got any of Adam and I {!!!}  I really only took photos of the views.  Non documented highlights were paddle-boarding in the ocean, a morning at the spa, and nights around the fire-pit.

Thank you to Access Systems for seeing the value in treating your employees well and to my hubby for being so successful! You're the best!!
