Mother's Day | 2016

Mother's Day 2016 was my best yet!  I hope you all had a great day, too!  When Adam asked what I wanted Mother's Day to look like this year, I thought about going out to brunch, or on a 'family date' somewhere, but after the crazy busy week we had last week, I ultimately decided I just wanted to hang out at home.  My parents happened to be in town {helping my sister & brother in law move} so I requested brunch with my mom and my mother in law {who happened to be available to join us}.

The day started off with this guy running into my room to wish me a Happy Mother's Day, and then wipe a booger on me {such is motherhood!} and then telling me he had to go back downstairs to Gram.  My parents watched them at our house the night before, so my mom must have told them they could wish me a Happy Mother's Day but they had to come back down so I could sleep in.  Jordyn joined us and within minutes we were all up for the day.  ;)

Then Adam made the best brunch ever!  Fruit, bacon, ham, eggs, cinnamon rolls, and really yummy croissant sandwiches.  I'll have to share the recipe with you guys {he made it up}, but it was ham, cheese, and mustard stuffed croissants with a bechamel sauce over it, baked.  Mmm!  The weather was sunny and 70s, so we enjoyed breakfast and mimosas on the deck.

After brunch the kids brought me a few gifts {shirt, earrings, necklace, & chocolate!} and we hung out and chatted for the afternoon.  Jordyn played waitress, going around and around the table taking our orders and bringing us food! ;)

Then we took the photo I requested, followed by afternoon naps for the kids and me, and before I knew it, it was time for my MIL to take the kids home {our sitters are off this week, so she's watched the kids for us!}

Can you see how tired I was from the week before?!

Later that night, Adam and I ordered pizza in and rented The Revenant.  Just as I was telling Adam how blessed I feel and how perfect the days was, I proceeded to break a big wine glassed filled with Shiraz, all over our brand new living room carpet, couch, and end table! #RealLife
