home

at last!

This entire summer has been a whirlwind -- awesome, but exhausting.  No more flights scheduled or hotels booked for us for a long time! {I know, first world problems!}

We {finally} made it home early Friday morning.  Nothing says back to reality like going back to 5 hours of sleep a night, but it was worth it because we both got to take Jordyn to her first day of preschool.  I'll post about that separately sometime this week.   Then it was time to decorate for Myles & Ashley's wedding reception.  Adam, my dad, & Myles made the lighted ceiling display and the rest of us decorated everything else.  We ended the night with pizza and final preparations back at their house.  Saturday was wedding party day, and with the exception of one {major} glitch, it was perfect!  I won't go into much detail since I plan to post a separate post about her wedding, too.

Fortunately for me, we hired our niece to help with the kids at the reception and she spent the night meaning that when my kids got up a 6:15 I could bribe her to take a turn.  Let's just say I wasn't ready to parent until almost noon today.  Ugh!  I swear I'm allergic to alcohol! So the rest of the day was spent unpacking, doing laundry, cleaning, playing with the kids, watching football, reading the 300 blogs in my reader, grocery shopping, giving baths, and cuddling with my babies--windows wide open and fall candles lit, it was heavenly!

All of the photos in this post are unedited {hence the person in the background of this photo!} and taken by my oldest niece.
It feels so good to be home!
